

Luis Ángel Gil Acirón is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English and German Studies at the University of Zaragoza (UNIZAR). He holds a PhD in English Studies from the National University of Distance Education (UNED) (Outstanding Doctoral Award and “Professor José Romera Castillo” Prize for Philological Research). He also holds an MA in ICT for Language Teaching and Processing (UNED) and a MEd in Secondary Education (UNIZAR). He further holds a BA in Educational Psychology (UNIZAR), a BA in Elementary Education (University of Valladolid), and a BA in Education (English major) (University of Cumbria / UNIZAR).
He has been a career public school educator since 2011. His professional experience includes positions as an English teacher (2008-2015 / 2018-2019), Visiting Teacher of English as a Second Language and Academic English at Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) (2015-2018), Teacher Training Advisor at the Aragonese Center for Foreign Languages in Education (CARLEE) (2019-2021), and Technical Advisor for Language Education at the Department of Education of the Government of Aragon (2021-2025). His research interests focus on language learning through active methodologies, particularly educational gamification and the pedagogical use of audiovisual translation.
