Pilar Couto-Cantero is a Faculty Member and full-time senior lecturer at UDC (North-Western Spain). She has been the Modern Languages Coordinator in the Postgraduate and Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) (2010-2015). Head of the Teaching and Learning Modern Languages Department (2014-2017) and at present, she is teaching: “Teaching and Learning EFL” within the Primary Graduate Programme, “Drama in childhood education” in the Early Childhood Graduate Programme and also teaches subjects of the kind in the PGCE postgraduate/Master programmes at this University. She is Principal Researcher at DILEC Research Group: http://investigacion.udc.es/en/Research/Details/G000697, Head of the International Journal DIGILEC http://revistas.udc.es/index.php/DIGILEC/issue/view/111, and external examiner and/or supervisor in various Doctoral Thesis Programmes (DIT Dublin, Stanford, CA). Her research fields are: Teaching and Learning Languages and Cultures (Spanish/English), CLIL, TEFL, Bilingual Education, and she is also carrying out her research based on their own “Transpodidactic Model” about fictional texts (Novels, Short-stories, Picture books, Drama, Poetry, Music, Films,…) and their possibilities for the teaching and learning languages process.
