María Pilar Castillo Bernal is a sworn translator and interpreter of German and English and an associate professor at the Universidad de Córdoba, where she teaches specialised translation and German as a second language. She has been a visiting scholar at the University of Wolverhampton (UK), Universität Hildesheim (Germany), Lingnan University (Hong Kong) and Smith College (Massachusetts). Pilar has been a researcher in five R+D+I projects funded by the Spanish Ministries of Science and Education and the Regional Ministry of Universities of Andalucia. She has published over 50 book chapters and papers in journals such as Meta, Translation Spaces, Translation & Interpreting, Mutatis Mutandis or Lebende Sprachen. Pilar is the chief editor of the journal Panace@ and a member of the research group Oriens HUM-940, as well as the professional associations Tremédica, Asetrad and AGA.
